On July 14, 2020, Governor Polis signed HB20-1218 into law, requiring all hearing aid providers to complete Continuing Education (CE) in order to renew their Colorado license.
CE Requirements
Hearing aid providers with an active Colorado license must complete a minimum of eight (8) hours of CE during each year of licensure in order to renew that license. For those licensed the full two-year period, a minimum of 16 hours of CE must be completed. CE must be taken in subjects related to the hearing aid provider's scope of practice.
Documentation and Audits of Compliance
Documentation must be retained for a minimum of four years. The State Office of Hearing Aid Provider Licensure may conduct audits of continuing education for verification of compliance with these requirements at any time.
