PDMP Tutorials, User Guides and Webinars

In collaboration with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Division of Professions and Occupations hosted four brief PDMP webinars in July and August 2020. These events provided additional information and answered questions on the topics covered in the above tutorials to help licensees and their teams navigate the PDMP account registration process and effectively use the PDMP. HB22-1115 PDMP Electronic Medical Records Integration RFA Pre-Application Conference Recording

The Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) hosted a Pre-Application Conference on February 8, 2023 regarding the posting of the Request for Applications (RFA) pursuant to HB22-1115. The purpose of this RFA is to solicit applications from qualified integration organizations that health care practitioners and pharmacists may use to integrate access of, and data entry into, the Colorado Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) and a patient’s electronic medical records. HB 22-1115 allocates funding toward this purpose.

 

Colorado PDMP Training & Legislative Update

In collaboration with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Division of Professions and Occupations hosted a PDMP Legislative Update and Training webinar on August 23, 2022. This webinar discussed legislative updates concerning the Colorado PDMP and delegate registration and use of the PDMP. Topics include the expanded PDMP use mandate requiring prescribers to query the PDMP before certain opioids and benzodiazepines with several exceptions, the removal of restrictions to the number of delegate users a practitioner or pharmacist can authorize to query the PDMP on the practitioner's or pharmacist's behalf and details regarding delegate registration and use of the PDMP. The 30-minute presentation was followed by a 30-minute question and answer period.
