Colorado PDMP 2025 Training Webinars
The Colorado PDMP hosted two PDMP training webinars in August 2025. The first webinar provided training for medical residents, delegated users, and delegate supervisors. The second webinar provided training for pharmacists, pharmacy interns, pharmacy technicians, and PDMP data submitters.

Colorado PDMP 2024 Legislative Update & Training Webinar
This webinar was hosted on August 2024. This webinar discussed recent legislative updates to the Colorado PDMP and current Colorado law regarding controlled substance prescribing and PDMP registration and use mandates. It also included a tutorial regarding registration and use of the Colorado PDMP for prescribers and delegated users.
Colorado PDMP Legislative Update on HB22-1115 and SB22-027
This webinar was hosted on August 23, 2022. This webinar focused on the expanded PDMP use mandate requiring prescribers to query the PDMP before certain opioids and benzodiazepines are prescribed. Included are several exceptions and the removal of restrictions to the number of delegate users a practitioner or pharmacist can authorize to query the PDMP on the practitioner's or pharmacist's behalf. Further details were provided regarding delegate registration and use of the PDMP. Information on Delegate Access
Q: Can I authorize a delegate to access the PDMP database for a patient?
A: Yes, as a prescriber or pharmacist, you can authorize delegates to access the PDMP database for your patients.
Q: Who can I choose as a delegate?
A: Depending on your role you may authorize the following:
- Prescriber: You may authorize a delegate who is sufficiently competent in the use of the PDMP, whom you either employ or have under contract with your practice.
- Pharmacist: You may authorize a delegate who is sufficiently competent in the use of the PDMP whom you either employ or have under contract with your pharmacy.
Q: Can one person be a delegate for more than one Prescriber or Pharmacist?
A: Yes, as long as you are sufficiently competent in the use of the PDMP and you are either employed by, or under contract with, the Prescriber/Pharmacist or the same practice/pharmacy.

Q: How does a delegate sign up?
A: Visit the Colorado PDMP AWARE Account Creation webpage.
Q: How long will it take to sign up as a delegate?
A: Although completing the registration will only take a few minutes, it may take the database up to 8 hours to process the request before the Prescriber or Pharmacist can authorize the delegate to the account.
