Healthcare Professions Profile Program (HPPP): News

Sunset Review UnderwayThe Colorado Office of Policy, Research and Regulatory Reform (COPRRR) is conducting a sunset review of the Healthcare Professions Profile Program. Analysis in a sunset review is performed to determine whether the regulatory program is necessary and should be continued, modified or eliminated. This review will produce a report with recommendations to the Colorado General Assembly and result in subsequent legislation based on the recommendations in the report.

Colorado Medical Board: Legislative Updates

New 2019 Legislation On May 31, 2019, Governor Jared Polis signed SB19-193 Sunset Continue Colorado Medical Practice Act. The new law goes into effect on July 1, 2019, and continues the Colorado Medical Board in the Department of Regulatory Agencies until September 1, 2026. It also implements the following recommendations from the Sunset Review: The Colorado Medical Board's new sunset date is September 1, 2026.

FAQ: SB23-083-Physician Assistant Collaboration AgreementsThe bill modifies the relationship between a physician assistant and a physician or podiatrist by removing the requirement that a physician assistant be supervised by a physician or podiatrist.
