State Board of Optometry: Continuing Education

Optometrists with an Active license must complete at least 24 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years before a license can be renewed. If an optometrist’s initial Colorado license is issued less than one (1) year from the license renewal date, no continuing education will be required for that first renewal. If an initial Colorado license is issued more than one (1) year from the license renewal date, 12 hours of continuing education must be completed before the renewal of that license.

Colorado State Plumbing Board: Continuing EducationOn April 16, 2019, Governor Polis signed HB 19-1086 into law. On or after May 1, 2021, all licensed Residential, Journeyworker, and Master Plumbers must complete Continuing Education (CE) in order to renew a license. This requirement does not apply to the first renewal or reinstatement of a license for which, as a condition of issuance, the applicant successfully completed a licensing examination.

State Board of Pharmacy: Continuing Education

Pharmacy Technicians All Pharmacy Technicians must complete the continuing education and renewal requirements of, and maintain active certification with, a certifying organization in order to renew their Colorado state certification. State Board of Pharmacy: News

Sunset Review Underway of the Veterinary Pharmaceutical Advisory CommitteeThe Colorado Office of Policy, Research and Regulatory Reform is currently conducting a sunset review of the Veterinary Pharmaceutical Advisory Committee as described in section 2-3-1203 of the Colorado Revised Statutes.  Analysis is performed to determine if the Advisory Committee is necessary and should be continued or repealed. 

State Board of Pharmacy: Legislative Updates

New 2019 Legislation On June 3, 2019, Governor Jared Polis signed HB19-1242 Regulate Pharmacy Technicians. This new law goes into effect on October 1, 2019, and requires pharmacy technicians practicing in Colorado on or after March 30, 2020, to obtain a certification or provisional certification from the State Board of Pharmacy (Board).
