Emotional Support Animal Recommendations Require Bona fide Provider-Patient RelationshipA bona fide provider-patient relationship should exist between a licensed healthcare professional and an individual seeking an emotional support animal (ESA) for therapeutic benefit prior to the issuance of a recommendation letter in Colorado. This bona fide provider-patient relationship is defined in the mental health, medical and nursing practice acts. 

State Board of Marriage and Family Therapist Examiners: Legislative Updates

New 2019 Legislation On May 31, 2019, Governor Jared Polis signed HB19-1129 Prohibit Conversion Therapy for a Minor. The new law goes into effect on August 2, 2019, and prohibits a licensed physician specializing in psychiatry or a licensed, certified, or registered mental health care provider from engaging in conversion therapy with a patient under 18 years of age.

Office of Speech-Language Pathology Certification: Continuing Professional Competency

All Speech-Language Pathologists must begin to demonstrate Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) to practice speech-language pathology in the state of Colorado after renewing their initial certification (i.e., If your first certificate was issued during the middle of DORA's renewal period and you renew it before it expires you must begin to complete continuing professional competency after renewing the initial license). CPC requirements must be met in order to renew or reinstate a certificate to practice speech-language pathology.

Apprentice Classroom Hours and Practical Experience Submissions Practical Experience Reporting Beginning January 1, 2022, and every January 1st thereafter, pursuant to section 12-115-115(3), C.R.S., electrical contractors must submit apprentice hours and training information to the Electrical Board.  This information is to be submitted utilizing the Electrical -  FORM Apprentice Practical Experience, Annual Reporting.
