A self-inspection sheet has been created, which is designed to help you adhere to infection control rules. The self-inspection sheet is now available in four languages.

Office of Barber and Cosmetology Licensure: Legislative Updates

New 2019 Legislation On May 16, 2019, Governor Jared Polis signed HB19-1290 Barber / Cos Foreign Equivalency. Effective August 2, 2019, applicants for a barber, cosmetologist, esthetician, hairstylist, and nail technician licenses by examination can substitute work experience obtained in a foreign country for the required contact hours, using a ratio of three months of experience for every one hundred contact hours.

Reminder: Updated process for PLS, PE licensureThose individuals who have submitted complete applications and passed their Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) exam should now have active licenses.The Division of Professions and Occupations (DPO) has approved those applicants who have adhered to the new process and passed the exam.
