New Compact Rule:Starting Jan. 2, 2024, if you have a multistate license and change your primary state of residence to another state within the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC), you must apply for a license in that state within 60 days. 

Board of Nursing: Legislative Updates

New Legislation 2019 On May 29, 2019, Governor Jared Polis signed HB19-1203 School Nurse Grant Program. The bill creates the School Nurse Grant Program in the Primary Care Office of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to award grants on a five-year cycle to local education providers (LEPs) to increase the number of school nurses.

Colorado Medical Board: Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriptive Authority

Rules and Regulations regarding a Physician's role in Prescriptive Authority for Advanced Practice Nurses Effective July 1, 2010: Physician preceptors and mentors must comply with the full rules on Prescriptive Authority adopted by the Colorado Medical Board. Failure to comply may constitute grounds for disciplinary action as set forth in section 12-36-117, C.R.S.
