Office of Massage Therapy Licensure: Injunctions

The Office of Massage Therapy Licensure, through the attorney general, has taken injunctive action against licensed and unlicensed individuals practicing massage therapy. Law enforcement and other governmental agencies can request the documentation referenced in the injunction cases by sending an email to dora_massagetherapists@state.co.us with the subject line "Document Request." Program staff will follow up with document requests to facilitate inter-agency cooperation.

Emotional Support Animal Recommendations Require Bona fide Provider-Patient RelationshipA bona fide provider-patient relationship should exist between a licensed healthcare professional and an individual seeking an emotional support animal (ESA) for therapeutic benefit prior to the issuance of a recommendation letter in Colorado. This bona fide provider-patient relationship is defined in the mental health, medical and nursing practice acts. 

Office of Athletic Trainer Licensure: Legislative Updates

New 2019 Legislation On March 28, 2019, Governor Jared Polis signed HB19-1083 Athletic Trainers License. The new law, effective August 2, 2019, changes the term used to describe the regulation of athletic trainers from "registration" to "license" and "licensure."
