Welcome to the Pharmacy Homepage

The Colorado State Board of Pharmacy regulates pharmacists, pharmacy interns, pharmacy technicians, in-state and nonresident pharmacies, in-state and out-of-state prescription drug wholesalers, satellite pharmacies, specialized prescription drug outlets, other outlets, and limited licenses. The Board upholds consumer protection by licensing qualified applicants, investigating complaints, and enforcing disciplinary actions against violators of the Pharmacists, Pharmacy Business and Pharmaceuticals Act and the Board's rules.

The Board consists of five pharmacist members and two public members and works in conjunction with the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Colorado Pharmacists Society, RxPlus Pharmacies, and the Colorado Retail Council.

Stakeholder Meeting – December 16, 2024

The purpose of this Stakeholder Meeting is for the Board to receive feedback on proposed new Rule 17.00.00, Appendix G – MAT Prescription Protocol - The purpose is to create a new MAT Prescribing Statewide Protocol that is required as part of implementation of Colorado House Bill 24-1045.

 

Rulemaking Hearing – October 3, 2024

The purpose of this Rulemaking Hearing is to allow stakeholders a final opportunity to testify before the Board determines on proposed changes to Rules 14.00.00, 15.00.00, 17.00.00, 21-00-00, 17(Appendix A), 3.00.00, 23.00.00, 11.00.00, proposed new Rule 17.00.00(Appendix E & F) to implement HB24-1045, and proposed changes to Rules 2.00.00, 3.00.00 & 31.00.00, to implement Colorado Senate Bill 24-209.

Permanent Rulemaking Hearing – January 18, 2024

The purpose of the Permanent Rulemaking Hearing is to receive testimony before the Board determines whether to adopt proposed revisions and additions to Rule 14 - OTHER OUTLETS.  The purpose of the proposed revisions and additions are "to clarify organizations utilizing an Other Outlet license type on record keeping requirements with mobile drug delivery and administration."

What is this about?

The Colorado Board of Pharmacy ("Board") is requesting written comments regarding proposed revisions and additions to Rule 14 - OTHER OUTLETS.  The purpose of the proposed revisions and additions are "to clarify organizations utilizing an Other Outlet license type on record keeping requirements with mobile drug delivery and administration." The Board will hold a Rulemaking Hearing on January 18, 2024, to determine whether to adopt the proposed revisions and additions to Rule 14 - OTHER OUTLETS on a permanent basis. Please submit written comments to dora_dpo_rulemaking@state.co.us by December 15, 2023, however the Board will continue to accept written comments until the Rulemaking Hearing on January 18, 2024. Written comments will be posted on the Board's website under the "Public Notices" tab as received for all stakeholders to access and review.

 

Permanent Rulemaking Hearing - October 5, 2023
